In her home (with warmer weather) in California, Espinet works mostly on residential projects, and has created a nationally renowned name for herself. After studying art and interior design, she went on to open her luxury interior design company, and now is a personality on HGTV and a regular guest on Martha Stewart Living.
Her love for art and travel shine through in her projects. "I love art, and try to incorporate it into every project in some way," she says. "At the Clayton, for example, we used large-scale black and white photos of Chicago."
To showcase her passion for the elements of art and travel, Espinet published her first book, The Well Traveled Home, in 2013. The book showcases interiors Espinet has created using pieces collected around the globe. She also recently launched a new Tibetan rug line for Aga John in Los Angeles.
When in Chicago, Espinet is looking forward to regular visits to The Clayton. "The design followed the function, meaning it's very luxurious because they were seeking high-end clients, and it's beautiful. I'm really looking forward to it opening," she says.
